Greenhaven Home :: A Smarter Way of Living

The focus of the room is the headboard which is designed from a reclaimed mantle, rebuilt, painted and glazed. The bedside lamps will be made from old factory bottles, with a burlap shade. The chest of drawers is an antique oversized 5 drawer chest. All accessories are vintage, reclaimed, reusable recourses.

The inspiration for the room was to design a space created from all natural, reusable resources. My design challenge was to think outside of the box and use everyday pieces in a new and unexpected way. Recycling is key in green design to utilize existing items in a fresh way to manage harmful effects on the environment caused by new production.
