Don’t forget to join Justin Cave from HGTV’s Ground Breakers this Saturday and Sunday to learn the basics of green landscaping. The event will be at Cobb County’s first eco-friendly LEED certified Decorator’s Show House, which you probably know as Greenhaven. At this free event, Justin will teach those in attendance techniques for rainwater conservation, composting, organic gardens, backyard wildlife habitats and more. With the rain that we have been experiencing this month, there doesn’t seem to be a better time to learn how to install a rain barrel or rainwater reclamation system. Even better, you’ll have the opportunity to win free rain barrels at the event, as well as other green landscaping prizes. A complimentary lunch will be provided by Atlanta Outdoor Kitchens. Both Saturday’s festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. and last all day, and Sunday’s festivities start at 1:30 p.m. This is also a great chance to get a sneak peak at Greenhaven, which doesn’t officially open for tours until July 10th. Greenhaven is located at 2380 Chelsea Landing Way in Marietta. It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend, what better way to spend it outside, getting your hands dirty.
