New Construction Borate Wood Treatments The New Construction Borate Wood Treatment is an effective way to save time when building a house. The Borate Wood Treatment is performed when the house is at the "dried-in" stage of construction (before insulating the home). A Northwest Exterminating Representative will treat the first 2 feet on all wood members in contact with the slab and/or poured walls. The borates will penetrate into the wood acting as a repellent to termites. A marker dye is used to clearly distinguish where the application of borates has occurred. This treatment method is accompanied with Northwest Exterminating's Termite Damage Repair Warranty for the homeowner.

2. What has your company done to go green? Northwest Exterminating has developed green alternatives to traditional termite and pest control methods. We are also making internal efforts to operate our business in an environmentally friendly manner.
3. What are the environmental benefits? Sentricon: The Sentricon System is a green alternative to traditional liquid chemical treatments that has a minimal environmental impact. Sentricon uses only a few grams of active ingredient when and where it is needed. It is the only termite control product ever to receive the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award from the EPA.
Borates: Unlike soil treatments, borates are not a threat to our soil and water systems. Borates use a natural element from the Earth that is applied to the termites’ food source-the wood. Once the product is applied, the borates begin to penetrate through the wood giving your property termite protection without the harmful chemicals of traditional soil treatments.
