Our composite decking not only looks great but is also ultra low maintenance. It’s made from a combination of recycled polypropylene and wood fiber covered with a high performance layer of new polypropylene. This combination provides an industry high level of stain, fade, and antimicrobial performance. Our decking and handrails are non PVC and Vinyl-free both of which present problems in the recycling environment.

What influenced your company to go green? Since our founding in 1999, Correct Building Products has been committed to sustainable environmental practices (thus the name, as in ‘environmentally Correct’). We’ve always looked for ways to reduce the impact of our activities, and also outdoor living activities in general, have on the world. What has your company done to go green? Over the years we’ve made significant progress toward this goal. For example, we’ve always been opposed to the use of tropical hardwood decking, (best known as ipé or ‘eepay’, which is indisputably old growth rainforest, even though it is often packaged otherwise). We have tried to develop products that take are viable alternatives to this material. Additionally, all of our products are PVC- and Vinyl-free. PVC is not a bad material per se, but it presents life-cycle problems in the existing recycling environment. What are the environmental benefits? Our most significant environmental step to date has been the development of CorrectDeck CX. This product is the culmination of years of research into decking performance and recycled plastic engineering. The breakthrough is the combination of recycled polypropylene and wood fiber covered with a high performance layer of new polypropylene. This combination offers the highest level of stain, fade, and antimicrobial performance currently available. Incorporating higher levels of recycled feedstock into your high-end product is very unusual – generally, higher-end products include less recycled content. The other products that compete in the ultra-low maintenance composite decking space for the most part do not incorporate any recycled content that comes from outside their own factory at all, and most are made of PVC. Correct Building Products, LLC is a PVC-free company. Give us one interesting green fact about your company/product! Recycled Polypropylene Counter.
